Thousands of people in Lebanon stage a protest rally in front of the US embassy in Beirut to condemn Israeli massacre of the Palestinians in Gaza Strip.
The demonstration was held in front of the Israeli embassy in London, where the protesters waved placards, banners and flags bearing slogans such as ‘End the Siege in Gaza’ and ‘Free Palestine’.
Meanwhile British Riot police clashed with demonstrators as many of them attempted to climb the gate towards the Israeli Embassy, and some reportedly left the scene with bloody faces.
Similar protests were held Sunday in many other places in the world.
Outstanding British anti-war politicians, such as former Labor MP Tony Benn or MP George Galloway were seen Sunday in the demonstration.
“We should treat Israel as we treated South Africa during apartheid. They should be shunned,” Galloway said after the protest.
The protest organizers said similar events would continue on Monday.
